January in Matley Wood
Today was unfortunately a very dull and dreary day, so the light wasn’t up to much. This image is the starting point for a project that involves taking an image from the same location every month of the year to document the changing seasons.
This image was taken of a nice group of Beech trees in Matley Wood in the New Forest. As the light wasn’t up to much, I thought that I’d experiment a bit, and took three separate images (-1 EV, ±0 EV and +1 EV), which were then tone mapped and combined in GIMP, giving an extended dynamic range, though I’m not entirely sure that this particular image is worth the effort.
